Release 0.3 – PR#1: Simplicity is good


For this Pull Request, I worked at a simple issue of an open source repo started by my classmates: The Issue at hand is this and the corresponding PR is seen here. The task is simple: create a .env file that holds variables that can be easily changed so that people wouldn’t need to dive in the coding files just to change a simple Port number used for the React app’s local host.

The Process


What you see in the image above is quite literally the only thing I needed to do to add a .env file for the project. Of course using it is just as easily done:config_vars_usage

Simply put, I just replaced the hardcoded value of the Port with the env variable. That’s it! Pretty easy compared to what I’ve done for my next PRs!
